Update: it looks like the company responded here. I didn't spend much money, but I strongly urge others to avoid doing business with this company. I think a lot of the time, it wouldn't be clear and they'd get away with it. I'm glad I found out in this obvious case.
This company simply didn't deliver on what I paid for, and their support couldn't properly explain or remediate the issue. The content was relevant and I'd expect generally well received by that community, and most active posts only received a dozen or so upvotes, so I strongly doubt there were enough downvotes to compensate for the difference.
